Armed Robbers Invade Funke Akindele's Omo Ghetto 2 Hotel Set

The hotel actress Funke Akindele and her family and close friends were lodged at while shooting the movie, Omo Ghetto 2 was invaded in the early hours of this morning...around 12:30 am. Funke Akindele, her brother, her younger sister, her cousin, and close friends were all attacked. The robbers collected about six hundred thousand naira from Funke and her brother and also smashed Funke's marketer's Range Rover parked at the hotel. Funke's X Terra and her mother's CRV were also smashed.

Sources say it wasn't only Funke and her crew that were attacked, every lodger at the hotel was also robbed. Fortunately no one was really hurt.

The Hotel is called Imperial Hotel on Lagos street, Ebutte Metta, Yaba.
Some other members of the Omo Ghetteo 2 cast and crew are lodged in another hotel.

INEC List: Gbenga Daniel Declares War On Obasanjo

Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has finally declared a war on former President Olusegun Obasanjo following the declaration of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that it has listed candidates that emerged from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ogun State Chapter Congress conducted by a faction loyal to the former President.

Daniel, who is seeking to run for a senate seat, made the declaration during an address to party members loyal to his faction of the party at the inauguration of his campaign Committee in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

“We are fighting a last fight, we started this war since 2006, and I want you to shine your eyes. We are fighting a last fight because you cannot be in the river and complain of cold,” Daniel said. The governor accused the Obasanjo faction of trying to rubbish his administration and destroying the party in the process and assured supporters that he would cage the Obasanjo faction into a submission.

Another email. This one is kinda different. It was a long mail and I shortened it. But y'all will still get the gist. Read below...

A cultist relation of mine was recently butchered almost to death by a rival cultist group. I heard it was in retaliation to a hit carried out by my relation and his gang which left someone dead. My relation now needs almost a quarter of a million Naira for surgery and as bread winner of my family, I'm expected to foot the bill. I can afford to but I've vowed not to.


You see, this cultist relation of mine was shot at two years. I paid a lot for his treatment.
Last year he was knifed at school and almost bled to death. Again, I paid for his treatment.

I begged him to leave cultism alone and change his ways. And I remember telling him that if he ever got hurt again  because of cult activities that I will never help again. He promised to quit. He didn't.

Last week, I was told he had been attacked by a group of boys with cutlass and bottles. They were out to kill him but he managed to survive, barely. You would throw up if you saw what these guys did to him. Some parts of his body are missing.

I have since switched off my phones. I've deleted my facebook account and I've told my gate man not to allow any relation past my gate. I'm not spending another dime of my hard-earned money on a cultist who's refused to change.

Wow, tough question. Well, it depends on how related this relation is to me. If he is a younger brother, same parents, I would never turn my back on him...no matter what. But if he is a cousin, nephew or a distant relation...I could be tempted to, giving the circumstances.

But I would sincerely say be the bigger person and help him...maybe for a final time...and see if you can get him help after he leaves the hospital. He needs to be reformed. This is probably not the time to turn your back on him, even though I understand why you would.

14-Year-Old Rape Victim Charged With Adultery And Beaten To Death In Bangladesh

A 14-year-old Bangladeshi girl allegedly raped by a much older cousin has died after being publicly flogged for adultery. Hena Begum was sentenced to receive 100 lashes by a village council made up of elders and Muslim clerics in the district of Shariatpur, about 35 miles from the capital, Dhaka.



She endured about 80 lashes before collapsing Monday, according to The Daily Star, a Bangladeshi newspaper. Her family took her to a hospital, where she died.

“What sort of justice is this? My daughter has been beaten to death in the name of justice. If it had been a proper court then my daughter would not have died,” Dorbesh Khan, the girl’s father, told the BBC.

Family members said Hena was raped by a 40-year-old married cousin. The man’s family beat up the teen, then accused her of adultery.

The very next day, she was sentenced to the flogging in a fatwa, or religious ruling, issued by the village council under Islamic Shariah law.

Four people, including a Muslim cleric, have been arrested in connection with Hena’s death. Police said they were looking for another 14 people in the case.

Bangladesh’s high court has ordered district officials in Shariatpur to explain why they did not protect the girl. The court ruled eight months ago that Shariah punishment was illegal.

I’ve been moody lately

It’s been going on for a while now. Since December I think. One minute I’m happy and living this great life, the next minute I don’t want anyone talking to me. I’m angry for no reason.

I used to have mood swings back in the day, from my early teens to maybe my mid twenties. I was the queen of snobs; l was so good at making people feel like they don’t exist...I mean I went through five years of University with less than three friends...others I ignored. But as I grew older, I started gradually leaving those moody days behind me. I thought I was completely over it...its kinda back. 

Nothing in particular triggers it, I just find myself not in the best of moods. Nowadays I get easily angry; I’ve become aggressive, impatient, rude sometimes. It's like something is messing with my head. I don’t like it.
 

I don’t know what the problem is. I don’t know if it’s lack of sex, lack of a boyfriend...I know it’s not money, ‘cos I’m making more money now than ever before. Not only am I making money from my business, which has been really great lately, I’ve also started making hundreds of thousands of naira from this blog on a monthly basis...that should make me happy right? Well, what the hell is wrong with me half the time then?

These days I’m hardly ever in the mood to socialize. I get all these invites to events, but I haven’t been to any... I didn’t even go for the Future Awards.

Yesterday I walked out on a client who wanted me to direct a billboard shoot for him. He was making all these demands and didn’t want to pay much and I just lost it. I got up and walked out of his office. I’ve never done anything like that before. I didn’t even call to apologize.

Today, I was supposed to have meetings with a client my company is organizing the Unilag trade fair for and another client I’m helping to organize a show for next Friday...but guess what? I haven’t stepped out of my house all day. I didn’t even go to the office.

I don’t know what is wrong with me. Maybe I’m stressed? I’m doing so many things at the same time. I’m trying to revive my magazine and I’m co-producing this new show, I’m running my business, I’m running this blog all by myself, I’m responsible for all these people ...I’m taking care of all these people...no one’s taking care of me. It's lonely sometimes. Maybe all this is beginning to get to me? I don’t know, I’m just, I mean there’s so much I’m thankful for. So much! But sometimes I just...

Stilettos give women shapelier legs than flats?

According to a new study of 18 to 33-year-olds has shown those who walked in high heels activated their inner and outer calf muscles much more evenly than those who used flatter shoes.
A shorter heel, worn by half the subjects, led to them having bigger inner calf muscles because they are exercised more, according to the findings published in the Royal Society journal Biology Letters.

Professor Anna Ahn, of Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, and colleagues said: 'Similar to pulling a door-closer to its hinge, the ankle must be extended by a greater force when muscles pull closer to the ankle joint with a shorter heel.

'Heel length may determine calf muscle size in humans.
'In order to generate these higher forces at the ankle, these individuals activate their relatively thicker muscles for a longer duration.'
 
In the study the researchers analysed ten sedentary people, five men and five women, to ensure athletic training was not a factor in their performance.
They added: 'People come in different shapes and sizes. In particular, calf muscle size in humans varies considerably.

'Some people have short, stout lower leg muscles, while others have long, slender leg muscles.
'A possible cause for these differences in calf muscle size is the difference in neural signals received by the muscles, because muscles respond to increased neural activation with hypertrophy (excessive development).
'These individuals would also generate relatively higher muscle forces when walking, since muscle force increases with amplitude of muscle activity.'

Two years ago Italian researchers found wearing a pair of moderately high heels can tone the body, condition muscles and even improve a woman's sex life.
The study involved measuring electrical activity in the pelvic muscles of women when they held their feet at different angles.

Those who held their feet at a 15-degree angle to the ground, the equivalent of a 7cm heel, showed up to 15% less electrical activity in their pelvic muscles.
The results suggest the muscles are more relaxed when women wear higher heels, increasing their strength and ability to contract during lovemaking.

High heels have been a fashion item since the 1600s but over the past 50 years they have been blamed for a variety of health problems ranging from bunions, stress fractures and knee pain to an increased risk of arthritis.
