Al Mustapha's mum passes on after 13 years of not seeing her son

Hajiya Fatima Al Mustapha died in Kano after a protracted illness on August 1 at the age of 70 without ever setting eyes on her son since his incarceration in 1998.

Major Hamza Al Mustapha was the Chief Security Officer of General Sani Abacha, former military head of state. He was arrested in 1998 for the murder of Kudirat Abiola and was sentenced to death by hanging on 30 January 2012.
