May this year bring us all our hearts desires and God's guidance and protection.
Happy New Year to you all.

Freedom band at Calabar Carnival

Like I said earlier, Carnival Calabar was the place to be this Christmas. As far as I am concerned, Cross River State is the foremost tourism destination in the country. You won't understand untill you visit the State.

About the Carnival, all I will say is that I've never seen a people so passionate about something before. This event is so important to the people of Cross River State and it's many loyal visitors who trooped in from various states and countries. Each band had almost a thousand team members and the streets were filled with people who came out to watch the Carnival, which by the way is the most exciting thing to watch.

What a lot of people don't know is that there is a competition in the Carnival. A very serious competition that involves FIVE bands...which includes:

Freedom band - The Cross River Deputy Governor's Band
Masta Blaster - The Cross River Governor's band
Bayside - Ex-Governor Donald Duke's Band
Seagull - Sen. Florence Ita Giwa's band (Which won this year's competition)
Passion 4 - Cross River State Commissioner's band

This year's Carnival theme was: 'Land of our birth: our people, our heritage' which reflects their desire to bring people together to celebrate their culture and proud history.

The winning band will get about N5m I think and declared Carnival Calabar Band of the year.

Like I said before, I went to the Carnival as a judge (There were 37 judges in all) and the best part about being a judge is that every band performed in front of us..they will walk and dance around the streets but when they get to our tent, they perform for us...to get high marks I suppose...:-)

Anway, check out some pictures I took of the first band in the line up...Freedom Band

Bringing you more Calabar Carnival pics...

My Calabar Carnival Experience

I was invited to Calabar by members of the Carnival Calabar organising committee as a Judge for the main Carnival which took place on Sunday Dec 27th 2009 in Calabar, Cross River State. There were 37 judges in all, drawn from various states of the country and from different professions. There was an ex University Vice Chancellor, professors, lecturers, lawyers, journalists, art enthusiasts etc. And I was amongst them...I feel too honoured.

It was my first time in the State and I had the most amazing time.

At the stadium with Kevin (BB 4 winner) and other carnival judges and friends

MI and a few other Nigerian artistes performed at the Stadium on Saturday Dec 26th but I was only able to catch MI's show which was incredible. He performed with Ice Prince and Kevin, BB4 winner.

I took some pictures with my camera...very amateurish but enjoy...:-)

Governors of Cross River State and Rivers State arriving the carnival. We shared thesame boot so I was able to take close up pix of them.

We shared same tent with Gov of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke...who came before the carnival started to make sure everything was in place and also to greet the judges...:-)

I took over 500 pictures of the carnival...will upload more for you guys to see, especially pictures from the carnival itself...back later.
Hope you all are having a fab time...
Catch you later...

My night out...

I went out yesterday evening with a few friends and I had a blast. Took some pictures. Check it out...

If you look closely at this picture, you will see a dark spot on my right leg. Remember when I told you guys I fell in a gutter and bruised my leg? Well that's the scar there. I've tried to bleach it out to no avail. So whenever I wear anything short I use foundation to hide the spot ...but sometimes I forget...like yesterday...:-). If you know how I can get rid of this dark spot...please share.

Finally changed my hairstyle after wearing the long curly hair for over three months...lol. This is the second time (I think) this year I'm wearing my hair short. Give me the long weaves any day..:-)

The way I was posing you'd think I was in a mall in LA or something..lol

At the car park...ready to leave.

By the way, you guys like my dress? Someone said something about it looking childish...
Dress your age Linda!!!
Whatever!!! lol
I wanted to look casual, trendy and chic. Did I get it right?

My sex-maniac husband

I got an email from a reader of this blog. She wants your advice for an usual problem. She's married to a man whom she says loves to have sex...A LOT! She says to put emphasis on A LOT!

I never hear this kind wahala before o... lol. (Not funny I apologise :-))

Anyway, she said when she used to live in Nigeria with her husband, she'd leave home to go visit her mother for days mostly to escape his sexual demands (which she says is driving her to insanity) then they relocated to the UK and now she has nowhere to run to.

She writes "He wants it every time, morning, afternoon and night. Just whenever we are alone. The nights are the worst for me. He could go on and on all night long. He can't seem to control his urges and he's never satisfied. What do I do? The situation is making me so unhappy"

I'm not married so I really can't give any advice. If you have any words for our dear wife, please share. She really would appreciate it.

Tiger Woods is athlete of the decade

Even after a shocking sex scandal that tarnished Tiger Woods image, it was tough to ignore what he achieved on the golf course. He won 64 times around the world, including 12 majors, and hoisted a trophy on every continent golf is played. Woods was selected Wednesday as the Athlete of the Decade.

Top 6 athletes of the decade in their particular order...

1. Tiger Woods (Gulf)
2. Lance Armstrong (Cycling)
3. Roger Federer (Tennis)
4. Michael Phelps (Swimming)
5. Tom Brady (NFL)
6. Usain Bolt (Sprinter)

Good for Tiger.

Kidnapper's price list...lol

Just for laughs...lol.
